i have a 306 with stock bottom end, edelbrock performer rpm heads, intake, comp cams cam with 575 lift. 1.6 roller rockers, and a holley 750 van secondarys carb is this a good idea? what kinda power you think ill be looking at, and will i need anything else? thanks gary |
RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
i think it could be easily into the 400 range, idk how well the block would hold up tho, lets see what others say

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
ya these blocks are good for 500 so i was thinkin around 400 to wheels and 450 at flywheel

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
any1 else?

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
my friends putting down 493on the stock block through a vortech your fine its all in the tune.

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
500rwhp is pretty common (with a turbo and the right tune). it can be done with a sc as well but the sc puts more load on the block for any given hp level when compared to a turbo at the same level. there is a guy on turbomustangs that says he ran 612rwhp on the stock block for 3 years before he sold it......still in one piece

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
ya id love to do a turbo but im not an expert at carb tuning and ive heard the weiands are easier to tune and i will not need a blow thru carb. so it will be much cheaper...

RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
Why in Gods name would you choose a roots-style supercharger over a centrifugal or a twin screw?
|
RE: thinkin about this supercharger! opinions
i have a carb... and dont want to spend more money on a blow through carb...
