Default thinkin about this supercharger! opinions

i have a 306 with stock bottom end, edelbrock performer rpm heads, intake, comp cams cam with 575 lift. 1.6 roller rockers, and a holley 750 van secondarys carb
is this a good idea? what kinda power you think ill be looking at, and will i need anything else?

i think it could be easily into the 400 range, idk how well the block would hold up tho, lets see what others say

ya these blocks are good for 500 so i was thinkin around 400 to wheels and 450 at flywheel

500rwhp is pretty common (with a turbo and the right tune). it can be done with a sc as well but the sc puts more load on the block for any given hp level when compared to a turbo at the same level. there is a guy on turbomustangs that says he ran 612rwhp on the stock block for 3 years before he sold it......still in one piece

ya id love to do a turbo but im not an expert at carb tuning and ive heard the weiands are easier to tune and i will not need a blow thru carb. so it will be much cheaper...

Why in Gods name would you choose a roots-style supercharger over a centrifugal or a twin screw?

i have a carb... and dont want to spend more money on a blow through carb...
