Turbo Questions
Hey guys, got a question on turbos. A friend has a brand new turbo that he`s going to give me. The thing is its off of a diesel. The turbo is for a DT-466E engine. I`ve been trying to researchit but I`m not coming up with much. I dont know what size it is andare what psi it puts out. I`m going pick it up friday so i might be able to get some more info off of it then. But its free so if i can make it work then its worth it. Anybody have anyluck with turbo swaps? Would a rear mount set up be the way to go? would it build way too much boost? Any help would be great. thanks
sometimes diesel turbos work ok sometimes they dont.
they were made for different operating enviroment and engine displacement
and rpms and all kinds of different variables.
unknown free turbo can give you more headaches then they are worth
sometimes.

That is a really big turbo. DT 466 is an International heavy truck (semi, dump truck, etc.) engine. I've seen people use deisel turbos for the 5.0 but usually they are sourced from an engine ina 3/4 or 1 ton pickup (Dodge Ram, etc.)
