Default Emissions Inspection

If I have an after market block, like the new boss block, will i fail an emissions inspection? I dont have to go under the sniffer. It is just a visual inspection.

I live in St.Louis, Mo. I dont ever have to get the sniffer test, just visual inspection as the law recently changed.

StL law is changing thisSeptember 1stbub. Have you not heard? The right people got mad about heavy equipment or business trucks or somethingnot having to get the test and nowits changing from the gateway clean air emission program to the gateway clean air inspection program. The legislation reads like this. MO Senate Bill 583

It also requires only 1996 or newer vehicles to be tested and takes advantage of on board diagnostic technology to conduct the tests. The bill also adds exemptions for the four newest model year vehicles and for vehicles used to travel less than 12,000 miles in between inspections. The new emissions inspection process will improve customer service and reduce motorists’ burden.

My car is an 89 so I will only get a visual inspection, and I know a guy that inspects without even opening the hood so I think I will be good.
