Default how does it work

how does a firewall adjuster actually adjust the cable? does itget rid ofslack or what? i may need one im not sure for some reason i come up short on cable when i try to loop the stockcable on the quadrant by the pedals.. all i need is maybe a icnh more cable and i would be able to attach it. I bought a adjustable one again but this was just a lil bigger than stock in length which i was able to get it on.. but it did not pull the fork in enough to disengage the clutch so i can put it in gear i am aboutto juststick a automatic init but im so close to havin this right is too late to go back.. any help?

Adjuster won't give you more cable, so if you are lacking it, it wont help.

the adjustable cable has two nuts that attach to the bellhousing fork, adjust accordingly for more cable or less, enough to get the cable on, then use the firewall adjuster to change the friction point to about halfway of the clutch pedals travel, just curious are you doing this by yourself or with a friend?

i did it once with a friend of mine and once again by myself .. i have fourcables now.. two supposedly the same cable but they are adjustable.. and2 stock ones..the firststock one didn;t have enough cable.. the 2nd stock one had more enough it would come off the quadrant at the pedals as u lifted off the clucth but still didn;t go in gear.. the long adjustable cable worked actually for a while but because it was so long and bound up in areas enough to strecth the cable enough to ruin it and snappand before it snappedpedal effortwasvery stiff.. now the adjustable one i bought todayis wayshorter in length of the other adjuatable oneit measures up to the stock ones i put it on adjusted it fully towards the car and pedal felt right buti know its not enough cable to fully engage and disengage the clutch.. what should i do?

it can be inlarged as you cable stretchs out over time... so yes it gets rid of slack... how else would a cable need to be adjusted???
