Default C4 Questions

Taking the old 5 speed out and putting a C4 in, my question is from what i understand there are two different C4's which one is recommended or does it really matter?, and will my stock driveshaft fit and will the crossmember i have for the T5 work with the C4??????Also, on the dyno my car made 260 hp, currently with the 5 speed it goes 12.50's @ 107, what converter do you guys recommend?, I plan on putting a transbrake in next year but for the rest of this year ill pry footbrake it for now.

The C4 will work with your current driveshaft and crossmember. And yes, there are 2 different type C4s. One just has a larger bellhousing, and the other's is smaller. Neither one is preferred, they will perform the same. With the larger bellhousing, you will need a 164 tooth 50 oz flexplate. You can find these easily off an AOD car. The smaller bellhousing requires a 157 tooth 50 oz flexplate. As far as a converter, if your running 12.50s, Id recommend a 3000 stall. However, is that 12.50s on nitrous? If so, get a converter with anti-ballooning plates.
