t-5 problem hard to shift 2nd
when i shift it in to second gear at a STOP it seems like i got to pull down on it hard to get it to engage but its not grinding and its tuff to shift to 2nd will driving to

full of fresh fluid and the other gears seem to work

2nd gear works fine just hard to get in. someone said it could be a shift fork

get a new tremec!!! yours is going. I'v heard of this a few times, and each time, about 1-2 months later after it started, tranny blew! The force on 2nd gear is so high that it soon wont be able to hold it anymore. and, if you keep forcing it into 2nd, it could break something else?????. just eliminate your problem and shell out the $$$$$$.

Mine was recently doing something very similar. It would go, but it was hard. Also if I tried just normal shifting it would pop out of 2nd. I basically had to powershift to get it to stay in second. I went the cheap route and got a rebuild kit though ford racing. Upon tear down I found the bearings between the input shaft and main shaft were toast. After the rebuild it is good as new. Kits was $242 with tax and included every more parts than any of the ebay kits I have looked at.
