302 build help
I was looking around at some factory heads that i may be able to use for a "junkyard upgrade" and was wondering what you guys think about running a set of 69-74 351W heads on the engine.
They have slightly larger valves (1.85/1.54 over the 1.78/1.45 of the E7TE's) and smaller combustion chambers (60.4cc compared to 62cc of the E7TE's) to raise the compression a little bit. If i have them gasket match and polished they would probably make quite a difference wouldnt they?
Sorry for kinda jumpin around but i can get a set of those heads for about $60 or so and im sure i can sell me E7s for that much as they only have like 80K miles on them and there are a ton of mustang people around here. I just figure for the price, i get the larger valves and smaller combustion chambers. Of course i do not even know if you can use 351W heads on a 302, i just assume you can as they are small block heads...?
