Default Headers.

i am going to order my O/R X and want to decide what headers I am going to go with. First there is the shorty's VS longtube im trying to decide but am leaning towards long tubes for performance and sound. but its more expensive. short tubes I only know of people running BBK shortys andI hear nothing but bad things about the clearnace issues with the steering shaft rubbing. anyone have any suggestions?

i dunno if the the fox's are different but i just put bbk shorty's in today.
i got the egual lengths and i did have to take off the steering shaft to put them in...but they dont rub at all now that their installed.
and if you were to get the unequal lengths im sure they'd just drop in.
i hope that helps

I usually use BBK u/e shortys unless I plan on building the motor over 500rwhp.

my cousin has those on his vert and they had to dent one of the pipes soit would fit. and when the headers get hot they expand just a bit and he says it rubs when he makes turns.

so you'd rather take the time to pound in the header(s) instead of putting a few washers under the motor mount? seems time effective

Haha, right. I shimmed mine. Took hardly any time. The thought of pounding in a new header tube was just not that appealing to me.[:'(]
