94 GT running rich on startup...

Pretty much as the title says. 1994 GT 5.0 5 speed.

It has done this since I first drove the car. I first drove it bone stock, and now it has full exhaust, K*N drop in w/o silencer and timing advance.

I start it up, and it doesnt matter hot or cold. For about 30 seconds to a minute, it runs what I believe to be extremely rich. As I accelerate, I let off it pops like absolute crazy. If I leave it in gear and let off and let it coast, it pops real bad too.

After this minute, it runs perfectly fine, I can let off in gear without a single pop.

Is this a common problem to the 5.0L? I have done plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and seafoamed it. Am I missing something? Dirty MAF? Something up with a sensor somewhere? Dirty injector?

Thanks in advance!

hmm, you think I could have some sticky injectors? Is there any cleaner I can add to the fuel that actually works and may help out?

Maybe i should take it to my school and run a motor-vac on it, where you take the two fuel lines off the fuel rail and hook them straight to a machine that runs fuel + super concentrated clean through the rail...

check your 02 sensors and ECT sensor

will do... thing is, i dunno how the 02s could do it just at startup and then work perfectly otherwise. it's in open loop at that point and doesn't look at them...

could be the ect, maybe it's over compensating... thanks!

if your O2 sensor heating system is not working properly, the O2's will not read properly until they reach operating temp
