I hear alot of people using Transgo kits. They go for around 80-90. But I also hear that they allow the tranny to shift in OD at WOT. Not a good idea..... I run an Art Carr kit and I love it. Second gear shifts will get me a lil loose. I bought mine off a friend, but I think they're around 75-80 new. As far as installing them, I had mine installed when I sent it out to get rebuilt. But I hear its fairly easy with some concentration. Just some holes drilled in the valve body and a gasket.

Baumann AOD recal kit FTMFW!!! I love it! Check it outat http://www.becontrols.com/. It's only 60 dollars, the instructions are very easy to follow, lots of pictures and visuals. They send you everything you need to install it and you can adjust your shift points and shift firmness in each gear. Way more options than the other guys.

shelty i installed a B&M Stage II in my first C4, I liked it (slammed quite hard with no other tranny modifications). I have heard some people say they are junk, so who knows. Im running a TCI streetfighter valvebody now (ford valve body with a TCI kit preinstalled) and i love it. might wanna look into an upgraded servo to keep your 2-3 shift from flaring up, especially if your installing a shift kit. those flares are a big part of what kills a automatic trans. aftermarket units are around 100.00 IIRC, but ford made different code servos and you can usually find a used one better than yours for cheap.

heres the B&M kit i used before

here is the transgo kit

your is probably an A code (the worst), heres a 25.00 H code on ebay

and heres a billet aftermarket piece
