Default problems!

i shut off my car last night, and heard a noise but ignored it, woke up this morning still making the noise and then wouldnt start as far as i can figure it is a pump thats not shutting off when i shut off the car, its a humming comming from the left side of the block near the throttle body, any one ever experience this problem and know how to fix it, it drains my battery so my temp fix is i have to unhook my battery every time i shut off the car....not really helping tho, noise only stops when i disconnect the battery....

(o yea raced an old nova on the highway yesterday thing was sick, went from 45 to 110 next to it nose to nose, then it almost pulled a wheelly and i backed off)

not good.

perhaps you damaged something during your race?

I would disconnect the battery, wait, then re-connect and start the car.

Only thing that comes to mind that is motorized in that area would be the IAC valve. But it shouldnt run with the key off.

stuck my head under the car today just quickly before work, as far as i can tell its the fuel pump not shutting off, now would this be a problem with the pump, or could it be my ignition switch or is there a switch somewhere else that should be shutting it off when i shut off the engine

anyone please,
