Default Which engine mounts to get.

I replacing my engine mounts and was told that the poly mounts were great. Well, I found out that great means expensive. Of course, the mounts I have now are 8 years old and the rubber is trashed. I'm looking at about $100 with shipping for the poly. Is this something that you guys prefer? I would love to hear some different opinions on this. Thanks

Does the prothane last longer? I'm not sure why you would want them. I want to get something I'll be satisfied with though.[sm=smiley22.gif]

I love my solid mounts. With a poly trans mount (probably a good time to replace that, I think they're only $15 or so) I honestly have no idea what people complain about, it hardly vibrates at all. Just feels good shaking at idle

PS you can pick up a decent set of solids (not that there's much variation in quality in a chunk of steel) for maybe $40

Moroso solid engine mounts with a poly trans mount work good for me. I do not have a vibration problem, I have a thumping kinda sound, oh wait, that is my cam. Any way if engine is balanced correctly you will have no problem with solid mounts.

several reasons why poly is better
1. they last longer
2. don't crack
3. offer some damping over a solid
4. helps with preventing engine twist which can and does lose hp

I have no vibration like i stated earlier. As far as preventing twist, solid is much better. No flex at all. But also like i stated earlier your engine must be balanced right with very good machine work.
