RE: AOD QUESTION-WEIRD PROBLEMS

Metal flakes are bad, do a complete fluid change, but it won't fix your problem, just prevent it from getting worse. Change your fluid, filter, and gasket, but I think it's time for a rebuild or change your tranny.

BTW, the metal flakes is the metal shaving from too much friction, that's not reversible, sorry dude.

ORIGINAL: SNORX302

sorry to be stupid-but what is a tv cable? as far as any visible lines-everythinglooks ok and intact

TV cable=Throttle Valve Cable. The transmission needs two signals to know when to shift. It needs to know how much throttle you are giving it (engine load) and it needs to know how fast you are going (road speed). TV cable is the engine load signal and the governor is the road speed signal. Governor pressure must overcome throttle pressure for an upshift to occur.

The flakes could be bushings or if there is case damage, aluminum. Probably bushings.
