It is a performance upgrade but you really dont need it unless its like a 408 or revvin real high. My dad had one on a small block chevy 400 on race gas and still had to rev it pretty high. Most rpm ranges when you buy them say 3500-8000

nope. if your wanting a high end street manifold pick yourself up a edelbrock performer rpm air-gap. thats about the best thing you could put on a streetable car.

That's crap, they make a Victor Jr. dual plane that is very streetable. The Victor Sr. is one that I wouldn't run on the street.....Even though I did for about five years.

heres the rundown....

performer
performer rpm
performer rpm airgap
torquer / torquer II
victor jr
victor sr

the wieand action plus and action + (yeah, two different intakes) are other options. one of em (i forget which, you have to look) is a new design that is kinda in between a edelbrock performer and a performer rpm and is actually the best intake around for low end power. combined with a small carb like a holley 570 or a speed demon 575 it makes for a screamer off the line
