i figured my problem would come from the fuel sending unit? my check engine hasnt turned on and i have a new gt40 crate dropped in....i have no clue what my problem is maybe an exhuast leak? any help is much appreciated

I don't know if they all run in the same harness, but if your wiring is screwed up that explain the power loss and the gauge failure.

Again, I dunno if the pump and the guage they use a common connector or anything.

Take it to your local auto parts store, they will do it for free.
