Does anyone recommend a certain fuel for a 93 gt. currently using sunoco 94 octane just wondering if its worth the money. do some stations have worse fuel than others, does it matter which octane to use. just wondering?

I would just run 91-93 unless you are spraying a shot over 125

K uh, i dont wanna get into the chemistry of fuel unless i have to. but unless you are turbo or blown and make real high compression.. High octane fuel is NOT nessasary(sp) Find a place that you are pretty sure dosent have watery gas or anything and just put in regular unleaded. or ethanol if it gets cold like here in north dakota

I was told by a builder that cheep gas can cause detination damage on MOD motors but pushrod ones just run as good gas as you need to keep the pinging down.

i have 12* of timing right now and when i was at a lite with 89 octane, if i listened REAL closely i could hear some pre detenation, pull into the gas station filled up with 93(phillips 66, i like it the best and no more, ran smooth as hek! and it ran even smoother once i put amsoil in it!

yeah, I used to run 93 octane all the time... then it got really expensive with rising gas prices. so i just went down to 89 and it seems to work about the same as far as performance and gas mileage go. I get exxonmobil gas, occasionally i'll get shell.
