Default Cold Air Induction

okay... I was wondering that if I buy a K&N conical air filter and put that directly on my MAF, is that the same as having a cold air induction? What does a cold air induction have that is so great compared to just putting a conical filter on and removing the air box?
Thanks

If you do that you will suck up hot air in the engine bay.... The coldair (fenderwell mount) kits take the filter into the fender and take the cold air from outside the engine bay... To take better advatage of the cold air you might think about bypassing the coolant lines that run through the throttle body (just a little tip)...

Yeah just get the full thing, and make sure its full, not just a cone or the first part of the intake. I got mine from UPR, but ebay always has some for very low prices, I think $30 or so, go and check them out.

I haven't noticed a power boost in my car, but then again I haven't taken it to the strip and I am sure my engine is not putting out what it's supposed to, but I am thinking with my cold air and ac/smog eliminator I am very close.

ebay is nice and cheap... bbk is real nice quality but twice as much.... i bought one off ebay, you could tell it was cheap... 40+5 dollars, the rubber tubes that mouth the pipes together got holes in em after about 6 month... but some are more decent then others...
