eec troubles, please help
I just recently had some serious leaning out issues with my 87 notch, "converted to mass" upon trouble shooting I found that the eec did not make a good enough ground to pulse the idle air bypass solenoid and was probably causing other problems. I swaped it for an A9L and now it pulses. Now I'm not sure if it is actual or if the pulsing is playing tricks on my meter but it reads 50 or so amps and seems to get 6 vdc. WHen checking power source to ground it keeps constant at 12 vdc while iabs pulses. I need to know if this is a normal operation and also I am wondering how the diode works and plays into the operation of the iabc. I'm am afriad to test drive it without making sure that it won't harm the eec.
cause of original failure concerns me as the eec that failed was not that old.
Another related question is on code 95. Secondary fuel pump circuit failure. The 87 does not have the signal wire off the load side of the fuel pump relay that later models do. Will this effect the operation of the eec or will it just throw the code?

hey man just saying, don't go calling the kettle black. If your gonna throw it out there be ready to back it up. That kinda looks to be some of your own favorite words of wisdom. don't get all bitter just get over it. don't mean to make u loose sleep or anything.
wow, a little over the top don't u think. It sounds like ur ego is way faster than ur car will ever be. Personally I don't think u have a clue what the answer is and even if u did I'm not sure that I could except help from such an egocentric *****. Keep what u know to urself, I'll be fine. Looking at most of your post replys I can't even say that I've seen any real credible help but more of a shrewd remark to make urself look smart. My advice to you is maybe just be a little more humble. I'm sure your crap smells just like everyone elses.
you do seem to be a somewhat intelligent person, but if you had any clue what you were doing, you would have checked the stickies... as we have a link that goes right to the instructions for how to properly do a MAF swap into your pre-89 car.
I find this funny, so I figured i'd quote it
maybe alot of the stuff I add is derogatory, and negative... but i hate when jackasses like yourself dont LOOK for the answer... when its in the most obvious of places
also, your VSS needs to be connected aotherwise you will run into a rough idling condition due to the ECm not properly raising the idle vs vehicle speed.

"Pre 89 nehicles may need to have other wires connected to avoid poor vehicle performance and/or EEC error codes (like your code 95). If there are no terminals in the pin holes listed below, you will have to add these wires. Also, if your car does not have cruise control, you may have to add the speed sensor in the transmission. You'll need the speed sensor, an electrical connector, and a new speedometer cable. This is available as an optional kit, or you can get it from your Ford dealer.
FUEL PUMP MONITOR
Pin 19 is the fuel pump running monitor. It goes from the 19 pin on the Mass Air Computer connector to the pk/bk wire (splice into this wire - It's the fuel pump HOT(+) wire) under the drivers seat. This wire must be added (wire going from relay to pump)"
