Default weiand supercharger

hey guys, im going to be purchasing a wieand roots style supercharger for my 306 and wanted to know if i will have hood clearance issues. i have a 2.5"-3" rise cobra r hood on my car now. i know that the supercharger mounts on the intake manifold and then the carb bolts on top of that and then the air cleaner to finish it off. will this be to high and hit my hood or will i be ok? thanks

how much are you getting the kit for? what type of percautions need to be taken when doing that. like are you rejetting and stuff also. i saw them in catalogs for like 2600 or somethings....

another thing to watch out for is even though you have a cowl hood i think where the front pulley on the blower is might be a problem. most cowls don't start out that low.

the polished kit is under $2600 and i will be buying a new carb and having the car dyno tuned after the install. im doing all my homework on the kit right now so i dont know everything about it but it seems like a great deal for a great kit. if the pulley is an issue i dont have a problem cutting a hole in the hood for the pulley... might look good

i really couldnt tell you. contact the weiand and ask them how big of a cowl you will need. im trying to picture it in my head its like having a high rise intake and the carb on top of that so your hood might be fine

It'll be close....... you may end up cutting a hole in the hood and gluing a toaster on the hood to cover it up

eh he might be fine if you think about it the carb and air cleaner are like another 6 inches off the engine so the arm fromt he charger sits 6 inches lower then the hood he should be fine. its gunna come out next to the alt just a little higher than it.
