suspension chime in

alright im looking for some chime ins on this my suspension is pretty much shot well the struts are any ways, i have plans in the mere future to beef some things up i was thinking of some 70/30's for the front and 50/50's for the rear, also some southside lift bars and upper control arms, now for the front i dont really know what i can do to upgrade it any body have any ideas or suggestions for my upgrade?

RE: suspension chime in

sounds like you want to drag race... get strange 10 ways up front... not 70/30s, depending on how all out your going tubular a arms and k members are out there.... what about springs? imo... air bags in the stock rear, and 4cyl springs up front... unless your not on a budget....

RE: suspension chime in

ok then in that case... front... strange 10 way struts, 4cyl springs, no sway bar...rear... air bags in stock springs(or some lowering springs), cheaper control arms, some cheap 50/50s...

this pic is with just the front suspension mentioned above... stock rear suspension... stock car...

for a budget, thats the way to go imo

that pic looks awesome with that setup especially on a stock car ill have to check out the strange 10's and for the 4 cyl springs the local junk yard

RE: suspension chime in

so far the stranges will run me about 240 for the pair and the rears which are lakewood 100 for the pair so 340 isnt too bad also would u suggest ss liftbars? and plain ol aftermarket uppers?

RE: suspension chime in

i forgot to tell you, thats on a drag radial, but i mean if dragracin is ur thing, drag radials should have been one of your 1st mods imo... theyll give you about a half second...

strange 10 ways are the ****... basically i can launch like that, or with my soft springs and no swaybar, i can make it handle better than stock...

and as for the 4banger springs, yup junkyard, or autozone has em new... for like 60 bucks

RE: suspension chime in

i wanna get those lift bars, their suposed to be top of the line... but cheap **** will do if your on a budget...

some one makes a 3way shock for the rears... and 50/50 is an option w. them... their cheaper then the lakewoods...if they still have them at summit...

if you dont have a drag radial or a good tire, id suggest trying to inc. about 300 into ur budget for them, you wont regret it...

RE: suspension chime in

awesome... good tire choice too... i rock those, sept mine are only 235s... so just think w. ur tire, itll hook even better...

id suggest subframes too if u dont have them... i didnt get them, and well, my car is twisted...

86Capri2GT 10-16-2007 07:49 PM

RE: suspension chime in

dimebag, wut were you launching at? thats crazy for a stock car lol, and yeah, subframes and control arms, and maybe weld some plates onto your torque boxes if your gonna be launching way up there in the RPM's

dimebag 10-16-2007 07:54 PM

RE: suspension chime in

that was at 2k... not dumping it... just rolling off the clutch and on the gas

i have some 3.73s to put on, and skinnies on the car now... it'd be tight to pull the wheels a little, lol i thnk its do able, but dunno if itll happen...

302f150 10-16-2007 08:01 PM

RE: suspension chime in

302f150 10-16-2007 08:10 PM

RE: suspension chime in

lol, i dont think u mentioned nitrous, i was asking dimebag about his launch picture. but yeah, control arms are a big help too, i dont think u mentioned gettin those, even just reinforcing the stock ones will help some

dimebag 10-16-2007 08:11 PM

RE: suspension chime in

lol in that pic, no nitrous is being used... its a wet shot... it doesnt kick in untill 3k... and i dont even think it was on that run, but if it was,it doesnt hit untill after that pic was taken

so no, no nitrous
