Default AFPR question

I adjusted my fuel pressure lask weekend to around 35psi and on my A/F gauge it was looking good. On my way home from the track I noticed it was reading rich again. So today I checked my fuel pressure and it was back up to 39lbs, without me adjusting it. Is that a normal thing that I will have to deal with? It doesn't seem like it will do that if I have it set around 40psi, or it has never changes before like that. It is a Kirban AFPR...is it going bad?
