just bought a 1986 mustang gt with a 5.0. sometimes when i start it and give push the gas it has a hesitation. seems to do it until it warms up. not positive about that because i havent had it but 2 days, and it doesnt do it every time. died one time but usually just has a hesitation. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

 

Since you just got it, do a tune up on it. Change the spark plugs, wires if needed, cap & rotor, spray a throttle body cleaner, and add a fuel additive. Change the oil/filiter, air filter, pcv valveand the fuel filter so that way you know that you have a fresh items on the car. The hesitation could come from any number of items but by doing a simple tune could clear it up for you. Almost forgot, put premium gas in it when you do your tune up.
