FYI getting a motor from a stang in the junk yard means your probably getting something that was beat on. finding them in regular passenger cars are a much better bet, or an exploder
I'm with the other guys on this. If you get a 5.0 out of anything but a mustang/t-bird it will probably be a non-H.O which is about 180 crank HP max(bleh). Some good advice I heard people mention is look for a car that's been in some sort of accident. Chances are that the engine was running fine when it got hit.
I'll be putting an HO block standard bore, just machined/prepped,stock crank just turned 10/10 on mains, and factory forged pistons and cam for sale in about a week if that helps...
