I need to get the window trim off to fix a leak how does it snap off? thanks in advance

 

are you talking about the plastic piece on the outside going along the door into the rear view mirror? if so when you open your door look on the inside of the jam uptop you will see a single screw. take that out and then it will slide in the direction away from the mirror.

You need a little hook tool to pry little clips away from the trim. You can get one at Napa.

Heres what it looks like.

unless you are a trained window installer you are going to make it worse.

 

pull the trim away from the metal edge to load the springy part of the clip then lift up on the glass side of the trim and it should pop out I had to use a dash/trim prybar with a rag on the glass and gently pry to get the first clip started then it went pretty smooth.

 

How much could It cost to to have done?
