Hey guys, what constitutes "cementing" a block? Is it a big advantage or? Thanks

They make a block filler that you do it with. The only advantage is you do make the block substantially stronger, and in racing applications it is somewhat common, you reduce cooling efficiency though.

I see....is that because the filler used fills the coolant passages in the block? That cant be good....thanks

That's what I do to my blocks when their usable life is up so I can grow flowers out of them as a vivid reminder of all the wasted money I put into the hunk of scrap!!!

on a 302 i cant see it benifiting you much as they split down the middle when they go

Im going to go with a main and valley girdle....I'm going to pushing the envelope on a stock block just wondering if I should go dart block.....but thats a major price diff. sux.....but its the man way to do it...haha

there's other blocks available out there like the sportsman and the new BOSS block that hold more than the stock. much more cost effective than the all out dart block to

does the sportsman actually hold anymore? and i would like to see someone run a stock block with the valley and main girdle i think that would drastically strengthen the stock block by not allowing the top of the cylinders to flex so it wouldnt split down the middle. anyone running the two girdles and having good luck? i might try it who knows

302's split from the botto up ...not going to make much a difference.......people half fill 302 when they do 347's to help the distortionat the bottom of the cylinders.....wouldnt recommend it on a street car...tends to over heat......
