Default Sensitive Steering

Okay so i put 9in wheels all around, and since then the steering has been much more sensitive to the point that if i drive over a bumpy road, the car jerks from side to side. Is their a way to counter this? Or, is this normal? It also has a 5 lug conversion with 96gt spindles up front.

You may be able to cure it w/ a bump steer kit. Mine did the same thing, I never worried about it. You shoulda went w/ the 94/95 spindles, The 96 and up throw the wheels further to the outside in the front.

I just googled bump steer kit. This was the first of many that came up. You can get them from just about any place that sells stang parts

http://www.brownbrosparts.com/product/60679/60327/

Good explanation of it on this page

You should prolly have the car aligned from putting different spindles on. A lot of it can be due to the larger rim/tire combo also. The geometry of the front end was not designed around the alterations that have been made.

i was reading that bump steer was caused by mis aligned rack pinion, spindle and tire rod or something like that. i forget. if all three things arent level it causes bump steer. so what does this kit exactly do??? and was i wrong about the thing i was reading? maybe immisunderstanding it?

READ the second link I posted. It's a good explanation as I ALREADY stated!!

Part of the reason why topics come up so often is ppl don't wanna read the info posted. They'd rather ask for the information again. FivePointOhh, not necessarily directed at you, just something I notice happening all to often.

Check the date on this thread. It'll explain why the link probably doesn't work anymore.
