pretty much. there is a 1-2hp difference, which can be accounted for by casting quality

late 95-97.5 have GT-40 heads. 97.5+ have GT-40p heads. Pre 97.5 intakes are the SAME EXACT casting as the gt-40 for the lower, but a different upper. later intakes had revisions in the egr and whatnot. theres a pretty good writeup on those intakes on google somewhere.

While on the topic of explorers. I heard from a little birdiethat you cantake a rear end out of them and stick them under a 79-93 foxas a direct bolt in,is that true or do i need to take the little birdie out bird hunting.
