well, alot of cams are still going to be streetable...the important question is whats your entire set up? what are you wants out of the cam(idle, power range, emissions, sd/mass air, etc)

and how much are you willing to spend

my best advice... is to go to camshaftinovations.com... jay allen is a very smart guy when it comes to camshafts... hell be able to either... suggest an OTS(off the shelf) cam for you... or better yet, grind you a custom cam.. and his prices for both services arent bad either... if i werent working w. stock heads/intake, i would have had him make me a cam... but right now it was easier to get this comp. piece i just bought

ok im not looking to do over 512 lift in this motor so i dont have to have the pistons fly cut, but i plan on building a 347 stroker with asupercharger and was thinking maybe the F303 cam, herd its the best cam for supercharged motors

1. Total valve lift has NOTHING to do with PtV problems and the possibility to have to notch pistons.

2. The F303 is a cam designed for a 302 engine, install 302 parts in a 347 setup = 302 performance.

3. Jay can set you up with a custom for your setup, or select and Cam Dr. the best OTS Comp Cam alternative for you...... either way, that valve train has to be upgraded.

both 1 and 2 are kinda sorta bad logic.....

a) lets say you had a .700 lift cam - it is going to hit the pistons, regardless of what the duration is. why? because the lobes ramp can only be *so* steep which means a huge lift cam will inherently have a longer duration than a stock cam, plus even at any given degree (while cam is at any given lift) it will be open futher because the ramp rate IS steeper than stock.

b) when your talking about cams, it doesnt matter which motor it was *designed* for - what matters are the specs of the cam. just like how the same cam used in different small block chevys all serve different purposes. for instance, a cam that would be heavily healthy in a 350 or 400 would be rip/roaring in a 302 or 327
