Default Weird problem

After a long time of my car running fine, it's now having problems. Extreme problems. As soon as the car starts up, it stalls right back out unless you feed the car gas. As soon as your foot comes off the gas, the car stalls back out again. We recently moved and I literally had to start my entire way to the new place. Luckily it wasn't that far away.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? When you give it gas, it sounds like it wants to hestitate for a minute, than goes into power, but the second your foot goes off the gas, it stalls out, even in mid driving (You have to hurry up and start it back up in order to keep going).

We did a little bit of tests on it, one being removing the MAF sender, and it seemed to make the car run smoother, but I am not 100% sure if this is the problem, as I heard running the car without it is dangerous, and didn't want to take the chance. I am also wondering if the fuel filter has gotten clogged. It's not been replaced since I got the car, and sat for about a year in my back yard before I fired it up to drive it again.

We replaced the spark plugs, the wires, the distributor/rotor, and ran seafoam through it, and it started running a little smoother, but it's still undriveable.

By the way, it's a 1995 mustang gt 5.0

If somebody could offer some troubleshooting help, it would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same kind of problem awhile back. Acted as you are describing. It was my MAF sensor element, one was broken and wouldn't stay running without gas to it, let off gas, and it would die, had to start it with pedal down to keep moving. They could be dirty too. You can try some electircal parts cleaner, or use alchohol and a Q tip, but be gentle. There like a filement in a light bulb. Pull the MAFout and you'll see the wires, they sense how much air is going to the T/B and adjust fuel.

I didn't know that a 5.0 was automatic? It's a manual.

Normally if it's the IAC the car has trouble idling but it still revs fine. I worked on a car that had the exact same problem one time. Tap on the TPS with something and try starting the car. It could be the maf as well but it's a quick check to see if the TPS is stuck.

any way to test any of these? Alot of these parts are rather expensive to just throw money at to see if its the problem.

My vote is a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all your hoses andtop end gaskets.

check the vacuum that goes into the map sensor on the fire wall. the car will start and only run with you giving it gas right? and die right when you let off? i bet you it came undone or has a cut in it.
