settle down RIO95.......Addermk2 is not one you want to pick a bone with.....his vast array of knowledge is from experience and he does know what he's speaking of so if you expect help from forum members who have a lot of time on here and experience with different combos I wouldn't start pissing people off here like you did in your"SS" thread in the street strip section.....because the moderators are a few steps away from banning you........anyway as to the comment above about elec water pumps being a waste and a hassle and a huge drain on the battery...not true!!! I use a meziere elec pump on my 85 and it is well worth the benifit as I can run the pump while the car is off and reduce cool down time to a few minutes..I can drop my temp from 195 to 170 in less than 5.min and It has built in idler which makes you able to use the stock belt config....as far as how many ponies it freed up???? don't really know cause I did so many other mods at once. and It doesn't drain the battery I do however have a 100 amp alt and the draw from the pump motor is less than 10 amps

no im straight now man. but when someone calls me a ****stick, you better believe ill fire one back. but im tryin to be cool now. anyway, thanks for the advice with the water pump. ive already got it, just havent installed it yet.

yeah the backpressure definatly has somethin to do w/ the torque im lacking, but frees up the power. im fine with that though. i like a loud exhaust. i actually wish it was a little louder
Glad to hear all is straight now!!!as for ADDERS comment I believe he was refering to your camshaft not you directly as the letter cams are kinda outdated....and not as efficient..= old technology.....heck I even have one in my 92..an f-cam and I have stock ported heads......and before that I had a b-cam and thought a f-cam may boost power...huh!!! I was wrong...in a sense a least until I get better heads at which point the f-cam will be able to take advantage of more power......but the letter cams are single pattern cams and the 302 really benifits from choosing a dual pattern cam that has more lift on the exhaust valve due to it's small size in nature and in ability to flow as well on the exhaust runner side...but I gained no improvement in et or mph in the 1/4 mile from my cam swap cause the e7te's are not the most effective and can only flow so well with stock properties such as the stock 1.78/1.46 size valves.......with a decent set of heads and I'm sure you know it your combo will easily be over 300

i personally would stay away from electric water pumps. Its not worth the hassle, your money is better spent elsewhere in my opinion. Your really not going to free up much and your just going to be putting more strain on your batter and or alternator. Not worth it.
do you have any real experience with electric water pumps?

what do you define as real, have i used them or have i installed them on other vehicles and then had people regret them doing so? I personally have never used them, i dont see a need for it. Like i said, i just personally believe his money could be better spent on something besides changing over to an electric water pump, unless his water pump is already out. In that case if he wants to he can, but my opinion is its not worth it.

jasper, dont get me wrong, im not saying they cant be beneficial. But i wouldnt consider it a needed mod. I was just expressing my own opinion, i didnt state any facts. Im glad that neither of us have experience over something, but can both give opinions. I was just throwing my 2cents out there. I believe the op should here the good and the bad.

agreed if you do have it all it will do is free up some hp and maybe cause you a little bit of a hassle. I highly recommend a 3g alt however.
