Default Dead battery issue

i have an 84 v6 body mustang i just picked up. it was converted to a 5.0. The problem is the battery will run itself dead whether the car is on or off but the altenator shows to be charging. Is there a fuse i should be looking for? or just a dead short?

no car alarms or anything i think its somewhere in the motors wiring. the coil pack contacts are really crappy. im not sure how your supposed to connect those, i may just solder them on so they got a good connection.
