RE: gt40 head, valve spring question

i called tristate cylinder heads, they said no but if you buy the summit springs that i got they have a coil inside the spring for retention so its almost like adual spring. why are you wanting duals anyways?

Call a machine shop (one that is worth their weight) and see if they can be machined to accept dual springs.

umm, no thats called a dampener and MAYBE gives you 10 lbs of extra pressure when OPEN.

yes they can be machined, and for the ripoff most machine shops would charge you to do it you can get the tooling and do it yourself.

you'd spend 70 bucks, but you'd always have the tooling and you would be able to do any other heads you came across. this would machine the guide to a .500 OD so when you get seals you'd need 11/32 x .500 instead of .562 (stock)

you'll be fine with the f-cam springs Dimebag........I was worried at first cause I felt the f-cam need dual springs which is close to what you have but man what a difference those springs made.... I took it out a few weeks ago and ran it to the max while starring at the tac cause I never really paid any attention to my shift points and 1st and 2nd were around 6300 to 6400 and no float whatsoever:D

yea... looks like ill be getting those springs... i can return my springs but i guess i have to cut my losses with my locks/retainters... cant seen to find the box they both came in(everything is in the springs box...

soidk... either buy the tool, pay the shop, or return/order springs.. well see i guess
