Default porting stock heads

how much would it cost to get stock heads ported and polished. And how much of a horsepower gain can you expect? Also is it even worth it or does it cost just as much as buying new heads?

It's worth it. I did it, and I notice a deffinite improvement. I didnt get that done alone though, so it's hard to tell how much HP I got. Don't just PnP, get oversized valves, too.

stock heads suck..no matter what...the runners are way to small at 124 cc...my prolines are 200cc....but aftermarket is high..my be look for some gt40p heads ..for like 400...to have some one port your heads and put bigger valves in them will cost you at least 400

no way man, ive seen people get into the 12's with ported STOCK heads. If you get a good port job and do the intake valves, and maybe a 3 angle valve job, thats some serious hp gains for not much money . g/l

thats what im doin. porting/polishing stock heads and 2.02 intake/1.6 exhaust valves. i dont have the money for aftermarket ones and im putting in a HUGE cam, so i need to get some more flow. you can port and polish them urself pretty easily. all you need is a dremel and some bits. the best thing to do would be port match to the intake manifold. that is where the power is.
