90-93 havean air bag on the driver's side, 89 is the start of mass air (easier to mod), in 89 they also started the running upgrade of the 140MPH speedo, 93's supposedly have worse pistons, but I wouldn't let that deter you. You really can't be too picky when lookin for a nearly 20 year old car. But... I still was and got a '93 anyway!

I got a 92 LX and it has been the best car I have ever had. It started out as a project/rebuild but now it is my everyday driver.

you tell him the 93 had cast pistons but not to worry, but you dont even mention getting an 87-88 without mass air? which most of the time isnt even needed because people dont ever mod the car enough to use it

Well, I was pretty much piggy backing off the thread above, mjr46's comment. Well he asked what years, and that's what I would suggest, rather than just 87-93. I would always prefer to have a new year car from that range than an 87 for various reasons.

We cal all break it down anyway we want, if you want tilt and no airbag then go away from the 90-1993 cars. It's up to him...
