Gotta Problem
Many of you guys are right. Me and my buddy are doing the t-5 swap in my car. My buddys 94yellow50. We arnt having to good of luck. Everything went smooth up to puttin the new clutch back on. And then it came to putting the tranny in. I have a 1992 tranny going in a 95. I tryed using the fox bell, and the 95 bell. What i did was slide the input shaft throught the clutch etc and put the crossmember that was connected to the tranny in the holders on the car. After, doing this i was about 2 inches away from hitting the bellhousing with the tranny. However I was using a foxcrossmember one time and the other time i was using the stock 95 auto crossmemberr. Now i have a 94-95 manual crossmember on its way, along with an inputshat, and retainer but those dont matter to the question i have. If any one thinks it was the crossmember let me know because if it wasnt I have no more ideas. I have tryed all the combinations I have.

RE: Gotta Problem
the input shaft on the fox trans is shorter than the one in the 95 so first off you have the wrong transmission and i believe that the cross members are all the same. you need to swap input shafts use a 94 95 bell housing

RE: Gotta Problem
I know thats why i said i had an input shaft on the way to change it to the sn95. But that would make no differecne why the bellhousing and tranny dont line up at the same time the crossmember does to its holders. I think i just need a new crossmember

RE: Gotta Problem
Yeah the bellhousing was on the motor. I was putting the trans in with the crossmember connected too it. And if the bellhousing and tranny would have been bolted up the cross member would have been about 2 inches short of the supports. But i have the automatic crossmember right now. And i had a fox manual transmission cross member. I have on order a 1995 crossmember from a manual to see if that helps.

RE: Gotta Problem
if you use a fox tranny with the switched input shaft..you need the sn-95 specific bellhousing..now I may be wrong but I swore I answered this question with very specific detail in another thread to either you or your friend....the sn-95 bellhousing is a must and input shafts swap a must and sn-95 manual crossmember..end of discussion no more short cuts cause it won't save you any money..do it once do it right or not at all

RE: Gotta Problem
I know i wasnt trying to save money I was trying to save the hastle of changing. And yes I have the sn 95bell as well as the fox bell. I am waiting on my 95 crossmember and my inputshaft, And after that I hope its good to go. The reason I even tryed the fox route is because i had all that stuff before I had all my other stuff and it didnt hurt anything by trying.

RE: Gotta Problem
no it doesnt hurt trying but when its been done before and someone knows what it needs and doesnt your better off listening. anyway do you know how to take the trans apart and put the input shaft in?
