Default Question from the Newbie

Hey guys another question from the newbie..... My buddy has a procharged mustang that is mint condition. it has 55,000 miles. He put the prochrger and intercooler on and then started riding pro FMX so he never had time to drive it anymore. I have wanted a Bad A** 5.0 fox for the longest time BUT I am concerned about dependability. He has it on the stock engine with all of the necessary mods. Is it possible for this car to be dependable as a driver? I want to be able to take it out and cruise on the weekends and maybe even a a trip to the beach. (170 miles). Can you guys fill me in on your experience with supercharged cars. Oh and its a 92 w/ stock engine (Some of you guys told me they were forged). I want to know if the engine will hold up. I am not sure what boost he is running but I dont think its a-lot maybe 6-8. YOu guys have been alot of help on my previous questions------------THANKS

personally i would think everything would be ok and it dependable.I would deffinatley find out if the motor has forged parts in it from the previous owner just to be sure. And i would test drive it and make sure everything feels ok and possibley just for the hell of it do a tune up on it but thats just something i do. Make sure everything is ok and it does not have any vacume leaks these cars are natoirous for leaks but other than that it should be ok in my opinion.

Piston type doesn't really matter here...what matters is how well and safely the car is tuned. If the A/F is good and safe then only concearn is whether the car it's self is dependable...meaning general condition of the car overall.

as long as you dont beat the crap out of it. the motor should do fine for a long time

If my memory serves me correctly... Bernie (Pro50SC) is running a completely stock shortblock and puls low 12 second runs on his car... I havent heard of him breaking anything!
