Default Nitrous Questions

I am looking @ juicing my car. I am totally new to NOS. How exactly do you use it on the drag strip. I know most say they don't spray out of the hole. I guess my question is do you hold the button down til you cross the line or what? I know for most this is a dumb a** question but I am use to all motor cars.

I sprayed outta the hole.....!!! just don't spray below 3000 rpm's.. rev it up and dump it!!!..if spraying over 125 to 150..usually start pullin 1-2 degrees of timing for every shot of 50 over 125-150 and go 1 step colder on the plugs.. when hitting 200 and up usually 2 steps and so forth....but you need to be careful cause you must maintain proper fuel pressure and not allow it to lean out so i'D reccommend a wet kit... and good to have a pressure gauge on bottle and hood to keep pressure at a optimium of 900 to 950 where it hits the best and to get pressure up a bottle heater is reccommended.......and there is a arming switch and the micro switch on the throttle activates it a WOT!! THEN HANG ON!!

If you r on the drag strip and have nitrous then you should already be set up for traction. I have never heard anyone say dont use your button out the hole. If you cant use your nitrous out the hole its no need of havin it. Have you heard of sayings like "from the sit still" or "from can to cant." When the light drops door pop it and dont let it go until you get thru the 1/4 mile. *** bak and tell me about it.

i spray out of the hole as well

the race is pretty much won in the first 60 feet

there is no "button" really

you use a wot switch, 1 of 2 ways is best... either a microswitch on your tb, or a tps switch tapped into the tps

both are fine, one is electronic, one is mechanical

if the bottle is on, the system is turned on, and you are wot...you will spray until you lift

if you want to stop spraying or only spray at certain times, you can use a window switch, then it will only spray in a set "window" like say 3000-5000 then you can powershift w/ no worries (but i do that anyways..if you miss just lift...you just lost anyways so why stay in it)

as a beginner, start w/ 75-100 jets and work your way up from there. you will knock off about 1 second w/ 75 jets, a little more w/ 100's

you will NOT knock off 2 seconds w/ 150 jets....so like me....you might to decide to take advantage of the first 75-100 and just stay there. thats the biggets gain you get, then it tapers off like any hp gain

Yea i can tell your not a nitrous person. First advice is dont go to the track around a bunch of ford or chevy guys and say NOS you get the r and r look (either retarded or a ricer) now around a bunch of imports theyll think your king or something. Call it nitrous or nitrous oxide. I got a 125 wet shot on a carb with purge. Now if you have traction you have nothing to worry about purge it at the line and get the nitrous up there and ready. If you dont have great traction you dont need a purge because the couple of tenths of a second off the line while the nitrous is getting there will give you time to get some traction before th nitrous kicks in and its on from there.
