5.0 85 GT

guys i have a ton of motor swap questions and well ehres anohter, i found a 88 5.0 roller cam motor, and will it fit in my 94 gt? my mechanic says it wont, i thought these mtoors were universal? what would ened to be changed???

i really dont see a problem with it the only thing that i could think of that might be diffrent would be the computer but i am not sure.

ok thanks man..thats what i figured, i though most 87-95 mustang 5.0 engines could eb transplanted

yea they deff. do fit the 94 has the same style motor mounts as fox body cuz its a 5 liter so its deff. universal

Check your intake you might want to put you intakeon that motorand vacuume lines to make sure you run them the right way i know fox body are horrible about vacuum leaks. if they are nit right either the car will not run right and your cruise controle will not work either

yea i will probably just swap the intake,the computer if needed, and illd ot eh vacuum lines, so if the vacuum lines are muffed my cruise wont work? i prob ownt use it but it will be nice if ti stillw orks...

87-95 mustang motors are interchangable...meaning the long block =block, heads and all internals...you'll need to swap over your intake=upper an lower and your timing cover and water pump....end of discussion your mechanic is wrong about compatibility of long block

mjr...i really dont know how to thank you...you are the man so is everyone else who ahs helped me on this rediculous long and stressful journey my 94 has taken me on, well i guess ill be getting that 88 5.0 then..ill be off to get it by next weekedn, thanks you guys for everythign

no problem good luck with it....everything should work out a okay!!! you'll also need to swap in your distributor
