Default Front Seal Replacement

Just after my H/C/I install, I had my balancer go bad(rubber came out the back, started wobbling)...

I replaced the balancer, kept in the old seal (it was new with the H/C/I).....and it started to leak

Ok, I replaced the seal, and at first it was good.....now it is leaking again from where the seal touches the balancer snout...

Any tips on replacing that seal? Is there another possible problem that is causing this (i.e. bent crank)??

you might messed up the timing cover when you taken out the seal the first time, take the seal out again and look at the surface of the timing cover to see if there are any bad area's where the seal seats, also look for cracks around there aswell.

agreed must put some lube on there or it will leak

its not that hard ,in an hour or less you can have the timing cover off and seal out and make sure cover is not fubarred up[8D]

It is not leaking from between the timing cover and the seal, but between the seal and the balancer....

So, a little grease on a new seal (and on the balancer) will prevent the leaking??

Just got back from the store....picked one up.

I will probably do it tomorrow or next week.....today I am installing an automatic starter/alarm in my wife's explorer....

She needs to heat it up in the morning because you know which car is in the garage
