Default engine swap

my cousin just got a 93 lx mustang without a motor, or tranny. It had the 4 banger in it before. We've done motor swaps before. Does anyone have any info or links on what would be needed to swap it to a 5.0. He wants it to be efi.

what about besides a donor car.
nothing else!!! cause you'll need all the harnesses rear end, tranny crossmember, instrument cluster calibrated for 5.0 sending units...ect ect....do I need to keep going?? a donor car is the best way..otherwise spend alot of time gathering all the little things you'll need

here ill give a little list bro. if u wanna run dual exhaust, you'll need a double hump tranny cross member. also you will need a 302 v8 to put in the car, which you'll need some motor mounts. and for efis when u aquire the engine if its efi all ready, check for injector harnnesse and sensors (o2,engine temp). if it was standard before go with standard if not go with the automatic. also you'll need a ecu for a 5.0l mustang 88-93 mass air helps alot. and your lil 7.5" rear end it will hold out for a bit but only if ur easy on it. if you want to upgrade it go with a 8.8" rear end can be found in like soem rangers or some explorers. for fuel you will need to order a 5.0l sending unit or buy one (summit racing) and you'll have to find a insterment cluster for a v8 so ur RPM gauge is on. also you'll need a new speedo gear prob. hopes this helps if u got any more questions reply man.

or what you could do is call painless wiring systems and they have mustang harness already that they make. I did one of them on my previous car, not the easiest of tasks especially when you have to match wiring harenss plugs but then you still need to get the rest of the 50 stuff and never mind trying to find the A9L computer everone want it so that speaks for it self. its just really easier to buy a donor car bc you have every thing there and as your pulling it out note where it goes and how it was stuffed in there...if it doesnt go back in right youll have wires you have no idea where they go...

just im my opinion

DO NOt get a painless harness.

You need match year for year on the wire harness swap.
There are some minor difference from years that can cause swap headaches.

If you have a '93, find a '93 V8 harness. Will save many a headache.
