Default Input shaft question.

Here we go AGAIN. Lets make it real simple, was stupid and bought a 94 T5 but I have a 93. Quite a few people told me just to swap input shafts and the bearing retainer.

So I took the input shaft out of the trans that was in the car and took that with the 94T5 to the trans shop to have them swap them out since I didn't want to drop the needle bearings inside the case, BUT the trans shop called and said the tooth count is different.

So my question is, if people have swapped them out before, how are the teeth different on mine? I looked up the service tag on the 94T5 and it says it came from a 94 V8 5.0, and I know my car is a 93 5.0. Why are they different if other people have swapped them out before?

Good news though, they ordered an input shaft that is the correct length for the 93 and the right number of teeth for the 94 Transmission.

Default RE: Input shaft question.

Thats what I thought we were going to do, but it wouldn't work I think the one in the old trans was 19 teeth and the one in the new trans(94) was 22 or 23, def wouldn't go in...
