Default GOT NEW TIRES ARE THEY ANY GOOD???

my car is an 88gt eibach drag springs 15' welds with a 4 1/2 back spacing..
the tires are mickey thompson sportsmans L-60's......do i need to knock the fender lip in?
my freind is going to give them to me for $100 bucks,and they "are" brand new..
he changed classes to slicks.....so will they fit or what??

since nobody has a clue...i went and googled it......l-60's= 275/60/15's...28 in tall not 28/1/2 i think i should be ok..

don't mean to rain on your parade there grabbem88, but I think you are in for a surprise! Don't think they are going to fit without some sheet metal work! I just put 28x10.5 MT ET drag slicks on my '88 GT mounted on Centerline Autodrag 15x8 wheels with stock Stang backspacing and I not only had to roll the fenderlips, but also trimmed away some of the urethane ground effects pieces too! And I don't run the quad shocks either. Going to a 28" tall tire from the stock 26" tall one really fills up the fenderwell! You will see what I mean if the height you list is correct. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! I've been down working on my Stang to install the new engine I finally received yesterday and just now say this thread.

i do have a 4 1/2 back spacing....no qaud shocks...and the lip is no problem since the wreck i have beaten the crap out of the lip
my curent 275/50/15's look so small on this car!....roundman you are not a bearer of bad news just a life saver! so are the I pattern
pretty good? i havn't bought these tires my freind told me to try them out...if they don't work oh'well. thanks for the look out though.

that 275/50/15 is about the biggest tire that will work on a stock rim and stock back spacing

it is a weld.....so i shouldn't bother with the L-60's?? he had them on the back of a monte carlo.
