RE: spec stage 1 or centerforce stage 1 clutch?
fuzzy dice rule said hes swapping out from centerforce to spec today so well find out soon. I know a lot about what you like in a clutch is preference and what you need for power.
I was thinking about getting a king cobra but I've heard that there are a lot of clutches that are advertised as a king cobra that arent.
is that a good price for the spec clutch or can it be found for a better price?

In my 5.0 I have a spec stage 1. I love it. It clutches good and holds good. In my brother's 03 gt he has a centerforce dual friction. I think its crap. pedal is hard as a rock and it slips like crazy. He can set at a stop light, rev the car and it will jump forward. He had it replaced by a shop when I was at school and they redid the tranny also. I think they didnt do something right because its hard to shift the car period. The 5.0 shifts so damn smooth compared to it.

^^^ whoever did that 03's clutch should kill themselves, it shouldnt be that hard PERIOD
although, thats reminiscent of what my spec felt like when i first got the car, clutch was hard as a rock, and it was hard to engage any gear

so spec would be the better choice because it comes with everything? I'm not really that worried about how hard the clutch is, I know I will probably wish that I went with a different clutch either clutch I go but the reason why I'm not that worried about it is because I'm never in traffic, and I live in the country so theres not really any stop and go or anything like that

Most people recommend clutches they are running currently. Humans just do this naturally...
I have installed and ran about 5 different clutches.
My vote right now is Centerforce #1 for OTB clutch.
For a budget clutch, King Cobra.

for budget i wouldnt even go king cobra. i have heard of people spinning that clutch on the fly wheel with a stock motor. i have also heard it has increadible chatter and the pedle is god aweful heavy you wouldnt even want to drive it in the country. as for spec and centerforce its all up to you. i def recomend the centerforce. it has been nothing but amazing to me. i cant speak for spec because i have never used them all i have heard is the grab hard and thats about it. the cf doesnt grab all that head from the get go but when its on its on for good. the cf II has 90% more holding power over stock and the stock is rated at 340hp if i can remember atleast something around there.
