where should i set the timing and how should i set it. i have aluminu, heads, e cam and so on.

Its different for every car, mine likes 16 but I have heard of others pinging on 16. Bump it up a little at a time till you get ping or no performance gain from it. If you get ping back it down 3-4 degrees to be safe, alot of people will say 2 degrees but inaudible detonation is nothing to fool around with. When you do hear it pinging (detonation) its about a 12 on a scale of 1-10 better to be safe then to munch a piston or worse due to detonation. Any signs of smoke or funny smells that weren't there either is a good sign that you have a detonation problem so be careful and watch for other signs not just hp gains.

if your still at 10 go up to 12. see how you like it then try 14. the more timing you give it, the higher the octane is needed. aluminum tends to give a little so you may be able to push it a little further
