Computer Controlled Compatible???
I want to get a new cam for my car and was looking at getting a custom but it ask if its computer controlled. What does that mean? Does it mean if I want to keep running my eec iv? Because I do. Maybe some one can explain it to me better.
yea its just asking if your using a computer. like you said above for us its an EEC IV. It makes a difference in some of the cam aspects like lobe seperation. to make it a little more computer friendly. hope i helped
So I would say yes then is what your saying. So basically if you wanted to do a fuel injected motor you would have to say yes to the computer controlled compatible because you need a computer for the injectors.
Lobe separation does not determine if the cam is "computer friendly"...... a real custom cam designer looks at the events of the valves, lobe separation is a "result", not a guideline...... there are EEC compatible cams with 110, 112, 114 and 116 LSA's......... the E-303 is CARB exempt, and its lobe separation is 110°.
Who are you ordering the custom cam from?...... curious here.

Well Im getting it from my engine guy hes the one whos physicaly ordering me the custom cam I was just looking around and saw the crane or comp cam custom cam order sheet and it said computer controlled compatible and I just wanted to know what it meant I will get you the # for the guy thats doing my cam.
yea you are right i worded that wrong. i didnt mean that lobe seperation was a guide line. i was simply saying thatthe cam manufacturer will take into consideration that the cam will be going into a computer controlled engine and make adjustments to valve events accordingly as you have stated.
