Default 88 GT project

I just picked up an 88 GT for a project car! Was in the process of being turned into a cobra clone before the kid I bought it from got ahold of it[:@]. The body looks good for the most part, only a few cosmetic repairs necessary. Though the kid cut the wiring harness all to S**T. I now have 4 battery cables under the hood and a spider's nest of wires by the battery. The engine is not connected electronically and I think he managed to pinch some fuel lines. Got the car for $250 so I guess I can't complain too terribly much. I am new to posting so it might take me a lil bit to get pics up but definitely plan on it. I will take a pic of the engine compartment to show you guys how bad it is!

they tried making a ram air out of a flexible dryer pipe, the chain to pull the motor is still there, my computer is in the passenger floor board (makes it go faster right?? lol), not to mention the wiring harness, I have a TON of work ahead of me.

The Cobra emblems add 4 or 5 horses so you want to save those for sure.
Looks like they added multiple hot wires for accessories tied to the starter relay, just got some back tracking to do.
Oh, and I have the same seats, to get that black sh*t off I used laundry soap and a plastic bristle brush, followed bya couple buckets of water, I was amazed at how much came off.

Looking at the chain and computer, was this a 4banger conversion?

The VIN shows it as an 88 gt...they told me this motor was stronger...wonderin if this motor is blown and they wanted to keep the good one?? Plannin to just tear the motor down to be sure nothing is really screwed up in there. They put the motor in and basically failed to hook everything up, this computer goes with this motor...they left the computer for the old motor in the trunk lol.

Definitely keepin the cobra emblems...if nothin else I like em...lol. I'm thinkin I might have quite a bit of back tracking?? I've never seen a wiring set up this bad, though last vehicle I worked on was a 60's truck lol. I might just go buy new cloth for the seats, the carpet looks good on the floor but the headliner needs replaced. Most of the car is actually fairly clean! Definitely a plus! Anyone know what the stock position for that computer is?? I haven't looked at any diagrams or anything yet, thinking it goes behind the passenger kick panel??

Granted this car is a LONG way from getting there but anyone have some tips for me to get this car to run in the 10sbut still be streetable? Is this even a feasable thing? I would like it to still drive and handle well but run in the 10-11 area if possible.
