I just finished putting the heads back on a 1993 Taurus after a head gasket failure, and when hooking the manifold back up to the downpipe, one of the studs broke loose and just spins when I try and tighten it.

So today I called 2 exhaust shops to see how much it would be it put a new stud in, and they both told me they would not mess with it, to hard, and can't get to it. So what do I do now?

I put a couple washers between the manifold and the flange, and tightened down the other bolt to help pull up the other side. I just have a very small leak now.
