Default RE: dash

Are you talking about taking the ENTIRE dash out or just the gauges?

There are two ways to take the dash out, one is to remove the metal cage & dash together which is what most people do & is a major pain in the a** in my opinion. There are two bolts on the sides & a few on the clutch cage or steering column cage, whatever it's called. Where the steering column goes in. Then you have to disconnect some wires & a few things mounted on the metal cage.

The other way is to remove the dash from the metal cage, it spans from driver door to passenger door just to let you know. Most of the bolts holding it to the cage are pretty small. There are a few at the very top of the dash that need taken out, one on both sides on the outside, & quite a few on the bottom side going straight up into it. You'll have to remove the glove box to get to a couple of them.

the plastic around the steering column will have to be removed for both ways aswell as the dash piece where the gauges are (the thing the headlight/hazard/defrost switches are mounted on). the climate control must be unbolted (or detached) and the center console I believe must be unbolted

I may have missed something, if anyone see's something, correct me. I can't recall everything off the top of my head.

If you're just wanting to get to the speedometer all you have to take apart is the gauge thing with the headlight switch, hazard, & rear defrost in it. Then unbolt the gauges from the dash. Then there are two plugs on the back of the gauges aswell as the speedo cable. I belive you'll have to take the cover off of the steering column aswell.
