Default AOD Problem

So my original problem with my AOD was that after sitting all winter without being run i started it up and drove it more about 40 miles and it wouldn't shift until 3500 rpm. So today i changed the fluid and filter, i filled it with a little over 5 quarts of fluid and that made it worse now it won't shift until 4500 rpm, i added another half a quart and that didn't help either, is this too much or too little fluid or is there something else wrong here? Thanks

well my aode is saposed to take 12.5 quarts but with my smaller converter it only took about 10.
so i'm guessing you need more, not sure if theres that much of a difference between the aod and aode tho.

it will get damaged, don't over fill it.
Use the dipstick level, with the engine running.

It should only take about 5 quarts when you drop the pan and change the filter. It only takes more if the converter is empty.

is there anything else it could be or is it not shifting because the fluid's low?

did you get the filter gasket on properly? Ifit slips while getting put on, it will casue problems because it can block the fluid from flowing.

i didn't double check the gasket but i'm pretty sure it stayed on properly, i'll check it though if more fluid doesn't help :S
